| For the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. Raab Associates, Ltd., in collaboration with Suzanne Orenstein and Environmental Mediation Services, facilitated a public participation process focusing on a proposal to build a large wind farm off the coast of Cape Cod. The proposal generated debate throughout the Northeast and the nation, and many Cape & Islands residents expressed concern about what effect the proposed 170 wind turbines would have on Nantucket Sound. Key Cape stakeholders were involved in the process, representing the full range of perspectives. This initiative was conducted in parallel with the permitting process administered by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office, and other regulatory agencies.
